Maybe a video on how to make a squish band cutter?!
That thing is a beasthadone back indaday jred imiss it
Little guy gets down!..🫡👍🤙🏽
In 78 we were running 041AVs they were great ,but we had a super 45 with the 48 inch fire bar that I thought was amazing with the power to weigh ratio.
👍👍 I’d take the old one!!
Howuch compression is to much compression. I just removed the base gasket and installed a LRB pop up in my 660 and I've gotta put the compression release back in it cause I can't start it without it I'm sure. I'm waiting on my Honda bond till tomorrow but then I'm gonna try to run it. Any advice is appreciated
I'd say you are fine a pop upand gasket delete won't make it too high takes alot of machine work
@@JandSChainsaw I bought it from an old retired logger guy that just put together the kit saws and sells them. I'm not sure what all he'd done to it during the build but he said he builds a lot for tree company guys and loggers. I might have just messed up a perfecty good saw. It don't have an hour of run time on it when I just took it apart and did this stuff to it.
@matthewknight5641 check the squish clearance you need .020 between the top of the piston and squish band
@@JandSChainsaw thanks for sure. I'm gonna check it out here in a few minutes. I can't believe how restricted this factory air filter seems to be. It's even got some kinda cloth stuff around the filter like a pre filter. I might order the foam filter for it. Have you had any luck with the foam filter rather than the stock kind?
@@JandSChainsaw and also I wonder why the squish band is almost no existent? I mean it looks like it's pretty much all dome and almost no flat area squish band. Looks kinda like it should have a dome piston instead of the flat top kind
Hey I'm not sure if you still read the posts but I have a question. I just removed my base gasket and installed a LRB pop up piston in my farmer tech 660. I made the LRB piston weigh the same as the flat top and opened up the windows alot. Opened up the bottom transfers and smoothed out the ledges where the intake boot meets the cylinder. I'm waiting on the Honda bond to dry now. I pulled the saw over and it has so much compression I can barely pull it. My question is do you think I might have to much compression and it blow up ? I'm thinking I'll have to put the compression release back in just to be able to start it
You will be fine did you check squish
@@JandSChainsaw no.. this sounds strange I'm sure but they really ain't much of a squish band. It looks like the squish band might only be a 1/8th inch but it don't look like the ones I see on youtube. An old man built it for me and it actually ran good but I wanted to make it faster so I smoothed out the rough places where the intake boot mounts to the jug, opened up bottom transfers a lot, gave the intake the same shape I see the guy on John's custom saws do , removed the base gasket, opened up the windows and lightened a LRB pop up piston. This is the first thing I ever ported and I just got a timing wheel off Amazon but I've not used it to get numbers and I've got more studying to do before I am comfortable doing that part. I have sodder so I'll check squish in the morning and I think I'll install the compression release that I'd removed. When I tried pulling it over it was extremely hard to pull. Ill also check compression in the morning before I try to start it. I really hope it runs and I hope it's even stronger than before
I told you the same thing a couple times.. sorry about that I guess I'm just excited about my first ported saw. I didn't really do a real port job like you guys on UA-cam do but I'm getting there lol. I watch a lot of your stuff and other guys on here and I've been learning a lot and it seems like it will be a great new hobby
Hey I’m looking for a cheap chainsaw to cut logs into planks I’m using a cheap electric one right now with a crosscut chain 😂😂😂 anyway if you have any suggestions I’d appreciate it
Holzforma g660
Please keep up with the timing numbers. Main reason why I follow u and the other guys. How can we pep up our saws if we can’t get variety of good numbers to compare. Cheers NZ
OK good numbers for a 660 .025 100 120 76 will need a lathe to get the 100 roof don't touch lowers will pull like a train
Yes sir your correct Aaron does have those 550i figured out they are animals. Good comparison nice video. Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!
Wrap your top-hand thumb *all the way around* the handle. You'll have far better control of the saw if it bucks or kicks, and it may save you from getting a grievous injury. This is a chainsaw--not a flashlight.
I'm a powerlifter have more strength o 3 fingers than most have 9m 10 trust me I'm in total control

Great video sir thank you. I'd still take my 460 any day!!!

😁
I really think you need to sell that saw😅
👍👍😆
❤
Nothing wrong with the intro, my favorite part. Show what it takes to build a saw, a lot of folks out there thinking you only need a dremel and some gasket sealer🤠
😁
One of only three models that sthil ever made that were good saws.
👍👍 that’s got torque!!!
Crazy power mine is stock!! Good saw!!
Great run in Lil saw 😊❤
